Welcome
aboard the Palace on Wheels and get carried into the opulent
world of Maharajas, magnificent palaces and imposing
forts. The elegant interiors of this train with its delectable
cuisine and personalised service, exude an exclusive old world
charm. Each saloon has its own attendants or "Khidmatgars"
who ensure that your journey is comfortable.
Fully air-conditioned, the fourteen deluxe saloons are equipped
with excellent amenities which enhance the pleasure of travelling.
Each saloon is a combination of two twin bedded & two
double bedded chambers with attached toilets, running cold
& hot water and shower facilities. Colourfully attired
men and women garland the guests and accord a ceremonial welcome
at Delhi Cantonment Railway Station from where the journey
starts. For the next seven days the guests will live in Regal
splendour as the train winds its way to different vibrant
destinations.

DAY 01

WEDNESDAY
You will be transferred from your place of stay to the
Delhi Cantonment Railway Station in time to board the
Palace-On-Wheels train at 1830 Hrs. Depart Delhi for
Jaipur. Dinner and overnight on board.

JAIPUR
DAY 02
|
THURSDAY
Arrive Jaipur at 0200 Hrs. On arrival you will be
greeted by caparisoned Elephants and strains of the
shehnai to welcome you to the pink city -Jaipur. Lunch
at Hotel Rambagh Palace. Discover Hawa Mahal or the
palace of winds, unique Jantar Mantar (Observatory)
which was built in the 1700s, yet even today still
looks futuristic or almost surrealistic and the City
Palace and its Museum, Nahargarh Fort and Amber Fort,
silent sentinels of a glorious era. Make your ascent
to the palace fortress on a gaily-caparisoned elephant's
back. Tour the chamber and hallways of the palace, which
are famous for the excellence of their design and decoration.

DAY 03 |
FRIDAY
Arrive Jaisalmer at 0815 Hrs - the 12th Century
City of Jaisalmer dominated by its sandstone fort of
99 bastions. It is in the heart of Great Indian Desert.
Its temples, fort and palaces are all built of yellow
stone. Visit the exquisitely carved havelies and palaces
with their latticed windows, elaborate balconies, cupolas
and facades. See the Patwon –Ki-Havelies, Salim-Singh-Ki-Haveli
and Gandhi Sagar Tank. Experience the famed camel safaris
and desert camps…also dine under the starts as
the rhythm of Rajasthani music drifts into the night.
Departure from Jaisalmer at 2300 Hrs. Dinner

JODHPUR
DAY 04
|
SATURDAY
Arrive Jodhpur at 0700 Hrs. The gateway to the
desert beyond, home of the Rathors of Marwa. The Mehrangarh
fort is all-pervasive in this 15th century city. Visit
this magnificent fort, rising up on a hilly scarp overlooking
the city and built on the advice of a hermit - Jaswant
Thada, a royal cenotaph of the former rulers is imposing
and architecturally remarkable. Lunch at the Umaid Bhavan
Palace, the royal residence, a part of which is now
a hotel.
Departure from Jodhpur at 1530 Hrs. Dinner and
overnight on board.

MADHOPUR/
CHITTAURGARH
DAY 05
|
SUNDAY
Arrive Sawai Madhopur at 0400 Hrs. Welcome to
the verdant city called Sawai Madhopur and the beautiful
10th century fort of Ranthambhore, which is surrounded
by Ranthambhore National Park - a Project Tiger reserve,
spread over an area of 392 Sq. Kms of thick forests.
The numerous valleys and flat hill tops form picturesque
surroundings of the historic Ranthambore Fort. The Ranthambore
National Park is home to several animals like the Tiger,
Leopard, Sloth Bear, Jackals, Hyena, Wild Boar, Spotted
Deer, Sambhar Deer, Nilgai (Blue Bull Antelope), Chinkara
(Indian Gazelle) and Langur (Monkey).
Departure from Sawai Madhopur to Chittorgarh at
1030 Hrs.
Arrive Chittorgarh at 1600Hrs. Images of love
and valour; scars of battles lost and won
thrice
besieged, Chittorgarh is all this and more. There is
no place in Rajasthan with a history more romantic than
that of Chittorgarh - the centre of Rajput resistance
against Mughal rule. It was here that Sisodia Rajput
warriors on many occasions gave there lives preferring
death to dishonour and surrender. This city was sacked
at least three times before it was finally abandoned
and the capital moved to Udaipur. The glory of Chittorgarh
is the tower of victory Vijay Stambha erected
by Rana Khumbha to commemorate his victory over Mohammed
Khilji of Malwa in 1440. Its nine stories are covered
with sculptures of Hindu Divinities.

DAY 06

MONDAY

Udaipur
Morning city sightseeing tour of Udaipur - The city
of lakes, palaces, gardens, temples and forts. Lunch
at the Hotel Lake Palace, the former summer residence
of the Prince of Mewar. Enjoy the tranquillity of the
Lake Pichola. Visit the City Palace here you
will marvel at rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors,
coloured glass windows and inlaid marble balconies and
the peacock Courtyard, in all its ancient glory. Also
visit the lovely Sahelion-Ki-Bari Gardens, the Jagdish
Temple and meet the local people.
Departure from Udaipur to Bharatpur.

BHARATPUR/AGRA
DAY 07
|
TUESDAY
Arrive Bharatpur at 0630 Hrs. A wonderland for
birds, visit the renowned Keoladeo Ghana National Park
at Bharatpur, once the preserve of the Maharaja of Bharatpur
and now a world heritage site. It is home to 300 species
of birds some flying in from as far as Siberia and China.
You will see many different species nesting on the tops
of trees and along the roadside and visitors can spot
the rare Siberian Crane that migrates to this preserve
annually. Also found are Chital, Black Buck deer and
other varieties of animals.
Departure for Agra by coach at 1145 hrs. en-route visit Fatehpur
Sikri.
Arrive Agra at 1430 hrs. Proceed to one of the most beautiful monuments
ever conceived - The Taj Mahal, built by Mughal Emperor
Shah Jahan to commemorate eternal love for his queen,
Mumtaz Mahal. The timeless city of Agra offers you many
more monuments and tombs, all exquisite in architectural
skill and beauty.
