ROMANTIC KERALA

Cochin/Munnar/Periyar/Kumarakom/Alleppey/Cochin
(7 nights/8 days)

Day 1: Cochin - Munnar
Arrive at Cochin and proceed to Munnar (140 km, approx 4 hours). Check in at the hotel & overnight at the hotel. 

Day 2: Munnar
In the morning depart for a half day sightseeing tour of the hill station. Visiting the Echo Point, Kundala Lake & enjoy boating (on own) at the Mattupetty Dam. In the afternoon visit the tea estates of Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar
In the morning depart for a half day sightseeing of Rajamalai (Eravikulam National Park) famous for the Nilgiri Thar (Wild Goat). The afternoon is at leisure to explore the beauty of Munnar on your own. 

Day 4: Munnar - Periyar
In the morning depart by surface to Thekkady (110 km, approx 4 hours). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. In the afternoon visit a spice plantation. The evening is at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 5: Periyar
In the early morning visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary by boat. Cruise on the Periyar Lake to view the wildlife, which, often converges on the banks of this lake as it is the only water source in the region. The wildlife includes wild elephants, Indian gaur, monkeys, spotted deer, barking deer, wild boar and birds of myriad varieties. Encompassing an area of 777 sq kms, the wildlife sanctuary lies at an elevation of between 914 meters and 1828 meters above sea level on the Periyar Lake in the hills of Western Ghats. Return to the hotel for breakfast. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 6: Peryar - Kumarakom
In the morning, depart for Kumarakom (155 km, approx 4 hours). Transfer to the House Boat. Cruise along the unique backwaters of Kerala, viewing the lifestyle of the local villagers. Enjoy lunch and dinner on the House Boat. Overnight at the House Boat.

Day 7: Kumarakom - Alleppey - Cochin
In the morning you will be dropped at Alleppey Jetty and than proceed to Cochin. Spend the afternoon sightseeing Cochin. Visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church and the Chinese Fishing Nets. The evening is at the hotel and overnight.

Day 8. Depart Cochin
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel followed by morning transfer to the Airport/Railway station.
