Welcome to Rome this morning. Upon arrival make your way to the hotel and check in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this ‘Eternal City’. You also meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers later in the evening. Overnight in Rome.
Post breakfast this morning, you are taken on a tour of this historic, vibrant, exciting and unique city! Included sightseeing with a local guide starts in St. Peter’s Square, followed by a visit to the Roman Forum and the mighty Colosseum. You also have time for your own exploring, shopping or just relaxing at a sidewalk café. Overnight in Rome.
This morning you journey northwards for a stop in Pisa to visit the famous Square of Miracles with the Leaning Tower. Continue to Montecatini, set in the heart of Tuscany. It is ideally located to explore the best of Tuscany. Dinner awaits you later tonight. Overnight in Montecatini.
Today you are taken on an excursion to visit Siena and San Gimignano. Siena, without a doubt is Tuscany’s most loved and inviting city. A walk through its narrow streets lined with medieval palaces into the Piazza del Campo, which is shaped like a fan, is truly a memorable experience. San Gimignano, a hilltop town with more towers than churches, is uniquely situated among vineyards, olive groves and the delightful Tuscan countryside. Overnight in Montecatini.
Enjoy a full-day excursion to Florence, the city known as the ‘Cradle of the Renaissance’. You will be taken on a walking tour of Florence with a local guide to introduce you to the city’s highlights. Traffic is banned in a part of the historic centre, to enable you wander at leisure and admire Florence’s timeless beauty. Overnight in Montecatini.
The day is yours to do as you please. We recommend you join an optional half-day excursion to two of Tuscany’s best-known cities – Lucca and Vinci. Lucca is renowned for its narrow streets, quaint shops, and magnificent palaces and churches. Vinci is the birthplace of that true Renaissance man, Leonardo. Overnight in Montecatini.
This morning, you travel south for a first stop in the walled city of Assisi, home of the mystical St. Francis. Marvel at the remarkable treasures of the magnificent Basilica. Later you leave this peaceful old town to head across the Apennines to Rome. Celebrate your last evening in Rome by joining the optional farewell dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Its time to bid farewell as you leave for the airport to board your flight back home.
